NEW LOUIS VUITTON DEBUTS

Doubling down on divine design and fabulous fashion

It’s impossible to pass South Coast Plaza’s newest Louis Vuitton without noticing the eye-catching exterior. The dramatic façade of the second LV store at the Plaza features sculpted white lattice reminiscent of Louis Vuitton’s signature Monogram Flower, and the intricate cane-work of the Maison’s original trunks. It’s bright and inspired design, and intriguingly tactile…

The exterior design is a play on classic boardgames like backgammon, and once inside it’s clear how seriously Louis Vuitton takes play, travel, and leisure. There is a game room at the center of the main showroom spotlighting Louis Vuitton’s gaming, gifting, publishing, and music offerings. The room’s focal point is a foosball table that is a fun and functional work of art. Made in France, with hand-painted players inspired by a 1921 LV illustration, it’s priced at $87,500. Think fast (as sporty-types love to say): the $123,000 LV billiard table that was exclusively featured at the new boutique sold on opening day, but can still be special ordered.

It’s not just fun and games at the new Louis Vuitton: the boutique offers men’s ready-to-wear, bags, leather goods, fashion-forward shoes, watches and jewelry, fragrances, accessories, and more. Sought-after items include the Louis Vuitton Paint Can Bags, the new sustainable LV Trainers in three colors, and Tambour watches, as Louis Vuitton celebrates the 20th anniversary of the trademark drum style.

The new South Coast Plaza boutique is just the second Louis Vuitton store in California dedicated to men, and the largest in the Americas. Designed in France by the LV architectural team, it’s the first LV boutique to feature the three-dimensional pattern on the façade.

Fine art helps define the interior space. The ready-to-wear section features a painting by California-based artist Marcel Rozek, who pours diluted pigment onto raw canvas, creating unexpected color relationships and abstract forms. Surf culture is highlighted in a work by Peter Dayton, who paints bold stripes onto wooden panels shaped to resemble exaggerated surfboards. For those who enjoy boards they can ride (or display on a wall), the boutique includes limited edition snowboards and skateboards designed in iconic LV style.

Additional finds at the new Louis Vuitton include heritage traveling trunks, variations on the Speaker Trunk, a sound system presented in the form of the iconic trunk with engraved mirror material reinterpreting the Monogram, as well as gaming trunks for billiards, cards, dice, dominoes, and poker. There are also selections from the Maison’s Objets Nomades, a collection of travel-inspired furniture and objects made in collaboration with renowned designers.

On the off chance that a Louis Vuitton client does not find a gift for themselves, family, or friends in the new Louis Vuitton, they certainly will at the iconic original boutique at South Coast Plaza.
